They met because Alice’s family had know Monica’s family (Pat’s mother) in Cowra when Alice was a little girl – see Alice’s page.

Pat was in Cowra visiting Monica’s family in 19… when they suggested he visit the Rohmann family who lived in Katoomba. Hence they met and finally married in 1952

The Cummins Rohrmann Connection

There is a connection between the Cummins and Rohrmann families that I think is through the Deerings. Because of this Alice, Eileen and Ursula used to go to farm stays during their holidays, at the Cummins farm in Cowra from when they were very little. At that time Monica had already married William Anselmi (1925) and left for England so Alice never met her until she was introduced as Pat’s girlfriend.

Alice tells stories of three of them sleeping in a huge feather double at the end of the veranda, she remembers the Cummins as a loving family and she remembers big social occasions such as tennis parties on the lawn.

Alice and Pat met when Nick Cummins suggested to Pat, whilst he was in Cowra visiting his relatives, that he visit the Rohrmanns in Katoomba.
